- The IBM iSeries servers in our solution are remotely manageable. Based on that capability, we propose
the following solution for your review.
- CRSI will:
- * Install a single IBM iSeries Dedicated Server for Domino, capable of
supporting your entire organization in YOUR primary data center. This server will connect to your
network through a load-balancing, load-redirecting switch. For those organizations with multiple
data centers, each CRSI server can be configured to support the entire
organization to provide an additional level of redundancy.
- * Dedicate a similar server in CRSI’s data center in Denver capable of
supporting all your Lotus Notes users in the event of a disaster or
complete failure at your Data Center location.
- * Monitor and manage all of the CRSI servers.
- * Perform complete nightly backups to CRSI’s tape library.
- * Perform onsite maintenance of the CRSI server at least once every 45
days.

- The yellow line represents two or more 1-Gigabit connections.
- The red line indicates either a dedicated or Internet-based,
secured connection.
- If the server were to fail, the user connections would automatically be
redirected to the redundant server @ the CRSI Data Center.

- Based on our own research and experience, we estimate that an
organization with 7,500 registered Notes users, running in a Windows
environment, with an average mailbox size of 400 megabytes, in a single
data center, currently invests approximately $25.03 per user, per
month. This estimate does not
include hidden costs such as facilities, personnel, hardware, software,
media, maintenance, network ports, office space, licensing, and down
time.
- We have obtained an estimated cost for hosting Lotus Notes for this same
organization via one of our competitors.
Their solution requires a large amount of bandwidth as the
servers are located in their facility.
Their per-user cost is $21.37 per month. They have a similar Service Level
Agreement to CRSI. However in this solution, the servers would now be in
this ASP’s data center. If the
communications link to the ASP becomes unavailable, so does your e-mail.

- The per-user cost for CRSI’s solution is $9.83 per month. This represents a savings of
approximately $3,137,400 per year!
